Musicien, compositeur, accordeur de piano, Serge Casto a toujours dessiné.

Un carnet , des crayons noirs et bleus en poche, il se poste, sous un arbre, derrière une porte, à la table d’un café et dessine. Ce qu’il voit, ce qu’il sent, ce qui l’inspire et le fait vibrer. Mais sans jamais faire état de sa passion, sans jamais penser (oser ?) la partager avec des inconnus.

Jusqu’au jour où l’amicale pression d’un ami lui fait réaliser que oui, ses dessins ont une voix, une portée, une force. Il décide alors de s’autoriser sa vocation, découvre les pastels, s’approprie la couleur et élargit sa palette.

Depuis, Serge Casto promène son carton à dessin des rues de Paris aux collines de sa Charente.

Musician, composer, and piano tuner, Serge Casto has always drawn.

With a notebook and blue or black pencils ins pocket, he sits under a tree, behind a door, or at a café table and draws. He draws what he sees, what he feels, what inspires him and what moves him.

But until ten years ago he never mentioned his passion, never thought (dared?) to share it with strangers until one day, encouraged by a friend, he realised that his drawings did have a voice, a reach, a power. So, he decided to pursue his vocation and discovered pastels, embraced color and broadened his palette.

Since then, Serge Casto has taken his drawing broad from the streets of Paris to the hills of his native Charente.
